Jackie, You have been the best mom a kid could want. Corey benefited from your tireless efforts, and selfless giving, and had many, many happy days and proud moments. I am so sad that we do not get to see the man he could have become, but glad for those good days you all did have. I just read that the name Corey is Irish for spear, and it reminds me of the poem that goes “ Your children are not your children; They are the sons and daughters of life's longing for itself; You may give them your love but not your thoughts; For they have their own thoughts….
You are the bows from which your children
As living arrows are sent forth”
Corey was the spear and you threw it strong and well.
My heart is with you, and may you be comforted among all mourners.
Love,
Alexis

Rest in peace. It's been years since I saw him. This is crazy. I was in placement when I met him. He was so small and he always loved to play basketball and have me show him basketball skills. My heart hurts. 😭
