So many fond memories growing up next door. One funny story: For my father’s 40th b-day, Mr. Cooper’s gift was a giant key to our front door. Seems Ray Johnston was always losing his house key and would pester Mr. Cooper for a spare that he stored. This was his way of reminding my father not to lose it again. It was crafted from wood, and an exact replica down to the markings and teeth geometry! Another Dad story: My father’s car got snowed in on the PA turnpike during a big blizzard. Joe and I drove w/the Dads in the Jeep the next day to dig it out. One more: First time skiing was with Mr Cooper and Joe at Doe Mountain.
He was always moving, always working on a project around the house, staying busy and engaged.
I’ll miss visiting with him when I come into town…he was a Character!
Our deepest condolences to the Cooper family (especially Mike and Mary), on the passing of your Dad . Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. May He Rest In Peace.🙏
