Uncle Carlo’s memory
When Joey was attending elementary school, he picked up his school bus at his Nonno and Nonna house. I would often be at home with Mom and Pop, having lunch, coffee or working with Pop in the yard and garage. In the early afternoon the bus would come around and drop Joey off at the house. Mom would come out and pick Joey up and give him big hugs and cookies, food and soda. Pop was also there with the Joey stick if he was combative, sometimes he was. He didn’t like the stick.
I recall from time to time, Joey would come up to me and ask ,”Uncle Carlo? Would you play with me? “I’m bored.” As he became an adult, I would hear Joe saying what a great Uncle is Uncle Carlo. Today, that wonderful world is no longer here. Mom, Pop and Nick are gone. Joe is with them.
I wish I was a better Uncle and would have always answered, “ Of course Joey, lets play.” I think he would have enjoyed playing more and today we would not be so sad. I did and do love my nephew Joseph.

My fondest memories of Joe are from our childhood, before my family moved from Philly and times we came back to visit. Our time together with Nonna and Nonno was priceless. We listened to Nonno’s stories, ate with Nonna, and of course, watched “The Price Is Right.” We enjoyed helping Nonno fix his vast array of bikes to test ride them, draw with Nonna, and help pick ripe vegetables from the garden & fruits from the trees. We pushed each other on the old tire swing, played tag, hide and seek in the garage or basement, video games, watched movies, and above all, always had great conversations as well as laughs. There was truly never a dull moment when we were together. He was my best buddy! May Joe Rest In Peace and share his eternal life with Nonna, Nonno, and Nick. I will forever love and miss him dearly.

Joe, you were the most genuine soul I have ever met. From teenagers to adulthood, we accomplished so much over the years and supported each other with every milestone along the way. Everywhere we went you were always the light in any room. Thank you for giving me years of laughter and pure happiness. I promise to raise Gianna to be as loving, care-free and compassionate as you were. Gianna is a direct reflection of the love and support you have given us, she is so kind and absolutely hilarious just like you. I promise to remind her of how much she is truly loved by you every single day. Thank you for giving me the best gift, Gianna, and leaving a piece of yourself here with me. May you forever be at peace. We will love and miss you forever.
