Mary Jardine

“You don’t stop laughing when you get old. You get old when you stop laughing.”

Mary (Fida) Jardine passed away peacefully in her sleep with her loving husband by her side on February 5, 2024, at the age of 55 leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Born in Philadelphia, Mary was the beloved daughter of Maria (deceased) and Francesco (Frank) Fida and sister to Lisa McGinley (William). She was a loving wife to Robert (Bob) Jardine and aunt to William and Marisa McGinley, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend.

She attended St. Bernard School, Saint Hubert High School, and LaSalle University. She worked in accounting in various roles for CopiQuik/Ricoh for over 30 years. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. She poured her heart into her work.

But more than anything, Mary was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. Mary grew up surrounded by her loving Italian family.  She and her first cousins grew up more like brothers and sisters than cousins. She had unconditional love for her family. She cherished the days she spent at her grandparents’ house playing with her cousins, summers at her uncle’s lake house, and then as she got older, summers in Wildwood and Sea Isle City with her family and friends.

Mary met the love of her life and married Bob Jardine in 2013. Bob was such a devoted husband and they had a beautiful life together. They found immense joy in the companionship of their faithful dog, Bella. They enjoyed many amazing vacations in their short time together.

Mary was truly an angel on Earth. Just like her mother, Maria, Mary never forgot anyone’s birthday, cherished every moment you spent with her, and always welcomed you into her home. Her fondness for hearts, butterflies, and angels were reflected in her gentle and loving nature.

Despite her diagnosis of ovarian cancer in 2018, Mary was courageous, resilient, and tenacious. She bravely fought for over five years. Her strength and perseverance inspired all who knew her. Mary was an advocate for Ovarian Cancer survivors and those who had passed away from Ovarian Cancer. She was an active member of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) and raised thousands of dollars each year to support NOCC. Her love for the cause shined as bright as her personality.

Mary Fida Jardine will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her. May her kind spirit and loving presence continue to resonate in the hearts of those she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday, February 12th from 6 to 8pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 9304 Old Bustleton Avenue, Phila PA 19115 and again on Tuesday, February 13th from 9:15 to 10:15am at St. Matthew’s Church, 3000 Cottman Avenue, Phila PA 19149.  Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am.  Entombment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to NOCC in Mary’s Name. Hearts of Love: Team Mary. National Ovarian Cancer Coalition Mid Atlantic Region P.O. Box 8122, Turnersville, NJ 08012
