Margaret Ann Garlick (Gontz)

Margaret Ann Garlick(nee Gontz) of Jamison, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on September 15, 2024.  She was 86 years old.

Peg was born in Philadelphia and lived most of her life in the Rhawnhurst section of Northeast Philadelphia. She attended St. Hubert’s High School and was a lifetime member of Resurrection of Our Lord Parish. She is predeceased by her parents, Mary and Edward Gontz, as well as her siblings Edward (Jean), Mary Doyle (Jim) and her twin brother, Tom. She is survived by her brother Joseph (Franny).

It is at the young age of 14 where she met the love of her life, Joe. They were  married on October 23, 1965 at Resurrection and raised their four children in the very home she grew up in. She spent her days caring for her children as well as her grandchildren. There was nothing else in the world that mattered more to her other than family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was always there when her family needed her most, offering support, wisdom and love. She enjoyed attending her children’s athletic events where you could always find her praying the rosary. Peg was a devout Catholic with a special devotion to The Blessed Mother. She enjoyed family vacations in North Wildwood, celebrating birthdays and practicing her faith.

She is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Timothy Garlick, Jr., her beloved children Peggy Scarpello (Jeff), Joseph Timothy, III (Shannon), Tommy (Jessica) and Ed (Maria). She will be deeply missed by her 14 grandchildren, Joseph Timothy IV (Beccah), Jessie (Chase), Thomas, Casey, Jules, Maggie, Jenna, Caitlin, Timmy, Joseph, Meaghan, Brigid, Eddie and Mary. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Jordan and Miles. Peg is also survived by her goddaughter and first born niece, Mary Tandourjian, as well as many other loving nieces and nephews.

We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman.
