Frank Fahrer

Eugene “Frank” Fahrer, loving husband, cherished father, and devoted Pop-Pop passed away August 26th, 2024, after a brief illness surrounded by his family in his lifelong family home. He was 79 years old. Frank loved fishing and being on the water more than anything. Frank retired from the steel industry many years ago to take on a second career as a bus driver which allowed him to spend his summers in the Wildwood Crest on his boat looking for the next big catch.

Frank was preceded in death by the love of his life, Clare (nee Schufreider), and his son, Joseph Michael Fahrer.

Frank is survived by his two children Maria (nee Agnew), husband (Jack) and Frank, wife (Joanne) as well the lights of his life, his grandchildren, Holly Caroline Agnew and Gianna “Gigi” Agnew. He also was a devoted Uncle to Billy and Reed Schufreider.

Frank is also survived by his brother-in-law Anthony Schufreider and sister-in-law Linda Schufreider along with their son and Frank’s nephew, Tony Schufreider.

Frank also had a love for dogs. We are sure that he was greeted at the rainbow bridge by Shian, Buster, and Benji. Frank was also a devoted grandpop to his grand dog, Jake. and even right up to the day he passed, feeding Jake his favorite peanut butter bones from his bed.

Frank was extremely generous with every member of his family, whether it was giving his grandchildren “seashore” spending money, attending every sporting event of Gigi’s and all of Holly’s plays as well as taking his nephew Billy on fishing trips. He was a family man and believed that all special events and holidays should be spent with family. His presence (and his fish) will greatly be missed at the annual Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve.

Frank’s greatest act of love was retiring early from his job to care for his wife Clare for three years before she passed and missing her for the six years that she has been gone. The family is heartbroken at his passing but eternally grateful that he is with his love, Clare, pulling out of the dock to take that long-awaited fishing trip together.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Saturday, August 31st, from 9 to 10am at the Maternity BVM Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Avenue, Phila PA 19115.  His Funeral Mass will follow at 10am.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
