Helen Agnew-Gross (Irving)

Our beautiful loving mother went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 19th surrounded by her loved ones. Her absence has left a void our family will never fill. She was our Superhero and the glue that held us all together. Her unwavering, loving devotion to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren is what will be remembered most. She was our biggest cheerleader and our best friend. She filled the roles of both mother and father in addition to working full time and did it tremendously, She was involved in all our lives, whether she was attending children’s events, throwing slumber parties, jumping a pogo stick on the steps, throwing wire ball, playing pinochle or scrabble, piling kids in the car for trips to drive-in movies, sharing coffee on the porch or just lending a listening ear, nothing took priority over little hands, hearts and minds. She was the most loving, kind, giving, supportive, patient person with an unending strength. All who met her loved her. Helen was always called Mom by all her children’s friends because that’s how she was loved, she was the Mama!

Helen was the daughter of the late Robert and Sarah Irving (nee Smith). She was an amazing mother to Dawn Agnew, Christine Harrigan (Sean), Veronica Werhane (Kurt), John Agnew (Nancy) and Tammie Greer (Joe).  She was the world’s best Grandmom to Eric, Sean, Regina, Melanie, Ian, Meghan, Jagger, Jaden, Tucker, Sarah and Finnegan. Great grandmom of Abel, Carter, Declan, Seany, Timmy, Adeline, Lily, Lyanna, Valkyrie and another baby girl expected in October. She fought so hard to be here to meet her, but we know she’ll be watching from heaven.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert, John, Richard and Ronald, sisters Margaret & Joan. She was survived by her brothers James and William (Lynn) and sister Patricia Nelson (Jim). She will be extremely missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
All who loved her are invited to her visitation on Sunday, August 25th from 6-8pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 9304 Old Bustleton Avenue Phila, Pa 19115 and again Monday, August 26th at 10am at the Davisville Church, 325 Street Rd Southampton, PA 18966. Her Funeral Service will begin at 11am followed by Interment Service at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 W. County Line Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA .
