Elizabeth Daley (Young)

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Elizabeth Daley, who passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024, at 87 years old, surrounded by family. Elizabeth was the cherished matriarch of our large and loving family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Elizabeth was born on September 8, 1936, in Philadelphia, PA. She was the oldest daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Young. Elizabeth spent herearly years in Philadelphia where she developed her talents in art and drawing, and a love for reading. She enjoyed Incarnation of our Lord Church activities like bowling and met her future husband at their club.  She graduated from Little Flower High School in 1954. In September of 1984, Elizabeth graduated from the Computer Learning Center as a Computer Programmer. She had a life long dedication to the Blessed Mother.
Elizabeth is survived by her devoted husband, Francis J. Daley and their eight children, Elizabeth Tucker and her husband Albert, Kathleen Dillon, Susan Schaufler and her husband Edward, Margaret McCrorey, Mary McCann and her husband Shane, Patrick Daley and his wife Andye, Francis Daley and his wife Jessica and John Daley and his wife Kimberly. She was also a loving grandmother to Ryan Hallowell, Brianna Dillon, Gerard Dillon, Sarah Daley, Rebecca Pollard, Bridget Bochnowicz, Alison McCrorey, Gabriel McCann, Erin McCann, Emma McCann, Madison Daley, Ethan Daley, Aidan Daley, Brynn Daley, Mairead Daley, Charlie Daley, Reagan Daley, Krista Daley and Peyton Daley, and loving great grandmother to Cora Pollard.  Elizabeth was the beloved sister of Vincent Young and his wife Mary Ellen, Joseph Young and his wife Sandy and the late Francis and Kathryn Lyons.

Elizabeth was known for her kindness and humor and doted on her massive family. She treated all young people that came her way like her own children. She was a long standing member of Maternity BVM, where she served as Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed reading, doing cryptograms and other word puzzles, and always won at Scrabble.

Relatives and friends are invited to viewing on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 9 to10am at the Maternity B.V.M. Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Ave. Phila. PA 19115. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am with the interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken PA.
