Milton W. Runner, Jr. of Feasterville, PA, formerly of the Bustleton section of Philadelphia, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, surrounded by family after a short illness. Son of the late Milton and Hildegard Runner, he is survived by his three children; Angela Runner (Vincent Maisano), Nicholas Runner, and Victoria Runner-Innamorato. He was predeceased by his son, William M. Runner. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren; William Runner, Victor Innamorato, Bella Innamorato and Alana Innamorato. While divorced, he remained friends with his ex-wife Marie DiStefano, and spent many holidays and events at her home. He will be greatly missed by Stella, his daughter Angela's dog whom he walked and gave too many biscuits, as well as Murray, his turtle. He was the Proud owner for over 50 years of Runner Excavating and would have fetched his newspaper with a front end loader if he got the paper delivered. Picking cherries, cleaning gutters, and hanging Christmas lights all involved a Bobcat or the backhoe with one or all his kids helping. He collected old tractors and was a staple of the Lower Southampton 4th of July parade. Thru the years he was member of pool and softball teams, served as a little league coach for Northeast Optomist Club, and as a bouncer at several bars. He was a drag car racer back in the 1960's frequenting Atco Speedway and in the 1980's he could be found racing his Mack Truck at Raceway Park. Another big love of his was his Harley and if the weather was nice enough, he would be out riding, alone or with his friends. While very private, I know he frequented many a bar or diner to meet with friends, all of whom were important to him. He was a Past Commander for the Sons of the American Legion 810, Member of the Blue Knights, and member of the Operating Engineers Union 542. He retired from Parx Casino where he had his dream job of mowing vast lawns and clearing the track with a tractor between races. He was always licensed to carry and did. He was one of the greatest, funniest, most generous people you were honored to have met and spent time with. To the daughter who wrote this, he was Fonzi.
