Andrea “Andie” Vaudreuil passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024.
Andie was born to Wilfred and Aurore Vaudreuil on July 31, 1947. She was preceded in death by her sisters Vivian Vaudreuil and Gertrude “Trudy” Duffy and is survived by her brother Wilfred and sister Michele Vaudreuil. She was also a proud aunt to beloved nieces and nephews Paula Ballinger, Laura Larson, Gregory Vaudreuil, Genie Krull (deceased), Joseph “Bud” Duffy III, Edward Duffy, Brian Duffy, Elaine Vaudreuil and James Duffy, as well as many grand-nieces and nephews.
Born in Providence, RI, Andie spent part of her childhood growing up in Norfolk, VA, and Savannah, GA, before settling in Philadelphia, where she attended St. Benedict Elementary and Cardinal Dougherty High School, class of 1965.
She graduated from Peirce Junior College, then worked for many years at Pan Am Airlines, which gave her the chance to travel the world, see the sites of Europe, visit Russia, go on safari in Africa, and meet up with her brother for R&R in Thailand during his tour in Vietnam, among other adventures.
Andie also trained as a paralegal where she put her knowledge and organizational skills to work at major insurance companies before she retired.
She twice battled and survived serious cancer diagnoses, showing her strength and determination.
Always a music lover, Andie danced her way from American Bandstand as a teenager to live concerts as an adult. She was a passionate Parrothead who cherished many Jimmy Buffett concerts across the country with family and friends. Andie was singing along with ‘golden oldies’ to the end, and is now at rest, hopefully enjoying music and margaritas in paradise.
A memorial service and burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be planned at a later date.
Andie had a charitable heart and supported local charities that helped people and animals. In lieu of flowers, should you be so moved, please send a donation to the charity of your choice in her honor.
