Betty Larkin

Betty was born to Katherine and Archibald Jacobs in Philadelphia, PA. She was their only child.

She graduated from Hallahan High School in 1948 and worked various jobs.  She married William P. Larkin (Deceased) on November 20, 1954.  They have five children: Joanne Rowan (Deceased) (James), Kathleen Naddaff (Charles), William P Larkin Jr. (Pattie Ann), Daniel Larkin, and Beth Anne Larkin(Deceased).

Betty had a strong sense of faith and, as a full- time mom and homemaker, she and Bill instilled that in their five children.   Religion was a large part of her life and she sent all her children toMaternity B.V.M. elementary school and Archbishop Ryan High School. She lived her faith everyday by being a wonderful wife, mother and mom- mom.

Betty overcame the overwhelming loss of two of her daughters in the prime of their lives. She was a role model in endurance and true faith in God’s will. She always said she had the best life with the exception of losing her daughters and thanked God every day for her blessings.

Betty was a social butterfly, loyal friend and an avid card player. Bridge and pinochle were her favorites. She was a member of the Stone Harbor Yacht Club for over 35 years, as well as, an active member in the Stone Harbor Women’s Civic Club. She was also a long- standing member of the Huntingdon Valley Women’s Club. She has many lifelong friends with some going back more than 65 years. She loved people, and she and Bill attended many parties and other social gatherings. Always bringing a contagious laugh and never tiring of the same jokes, Bill and Betty were the life of the party. Her fingernails were always perfect and she had a fabulous head of hair! She loved to dress smartly and was known for her style. Both Betty and Bill were blessed with a long happy marriage of almost 67 years. They were a wonderful example of faith and love.

Betty is survived by her three children, 7 Grand Children and 16 great-grandchildren.

Grand Children: Christopher Rowan (Elena), Caitlyn Richards (Christopher), Brian Rowan, Charles “Chip” E. Naddaff II (Dana), William P Larkin III (Simmy), Kathleen Dobbins (Michael), and Diana Pomeroy (Jason).

She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Patsy Lounsberry, Sister Catherine Maureen and Barbara Larkin. She always thought of them as the sisters she never had.  She has many nieces, nephews, and cousins from her mother’s side.

Both Betty and Bill were residents at Southampton Estates from 2016 until her death. She has many wonderful friends there and enjoyed their friendships immensely.

She will be missed by so many. Please keep Betty and her family in your prayers.
