Mary DeVincentis (Terlingo)

Mary “Nettie” DeVincentis (nee Terlingo) of Tacony passed away on Saturday April 1, 2023. She was 91 years young.

She was predeceased by her husband Edward of 48 years. Her parents, Paul and Jenny, and her sister Alice Hopf.

She is survived by her two sons Edward (Andrea) and Anthony (Elaine), nine grandchildren: Michael, Michelle Morawski (John), Brian (Melissa), Amy Weston (Edward), Sara Kelly (Sean), Joseph (Samantha), Kristina (Alex), Patrick (Katelynn), and Nicole. Eighteen Great grandchildren: Morgan, Gia, Aidan, Dominic, Hailey, Liam, Anthony, Mason, Jackson, Bryn, Sean, Mason, Riley, Jack, Cecelia, Nicholas, Joseph, and Maverick.

Her sister Patricia LePera, her brother Francis (Arlene) and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She raised a family in Holmesburg and recently moved to Bensalem right next door to her lifelong best friend, her sister Patty.

With the sun in her face and the wind at her back she never sat still. Always helping others whenever or wherever she was needed without asking. She spent many days sitting with both her late Aunt Anna and then her late Aunt Dolly. Even after she moved to Bensalem, “Turbo Mary” as I called her would be flying down 95 to pick up a script or a banana at the grocery store.

When she wasn’t zipping around town, she was at the kitchen table in the morning doing the daily crossword puzzle, with a cup of coffee and half a bagel (with peanut butter and grape jelly), or watching old movies on TCM, telling me stories about the actors and actresses.

She loved it when her son Tony came over on Thursdays. They watched sports together as she sat on the edge of the chair yelling at players when they messed up.

Enjoyed walking out front with her cousin Marion.

Her eyes lit up like she saw a long lost soul when her sister Patty stopped in to visit, even though they saw each other every day.

She just recently went to lunch with my dads’ cousin Charlotte and commented how she enjoyed reminiscing about all the trips they went on together.

She was a devout Catholic, attending Our Lady of Consolation Church until she moved to Bensalem. She was excited when I told her I was taking her to Easter Mass.

Even in poor health, she never lost her faith. Calling for the Blessed Mother and reciting the “Hail Mary” the day before she passed.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday, April 10 from 9:30 to 10:30am at Our Lady of Consolation Church.  Tulip Street and Princeton Avenue.  Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am.  Interment St. Dominic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Nettie asked that donations be made in honor of her late niece, Jennifer LePera, to the Jennie Foundation or
