Joseph Perfetti

Joseph Perfetti, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25th, surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia in 1945, he grew up in South Philly and later moved to the Somerton section of the city. Joseph graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1963, while commuting from Somerton to South Philly for school. After graduation, Joseph started working at Kelly’s Corner in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, where he met Renate. Joseph was a Private in the Army reserves from 1966 to 1972.

Joseph and Renate married in September of 1967 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. They first lived at the Petoni apartments in Bustelton and later moved to Gorman Street in Somerton where they currently reside. Over the years Joseph managed Kelly’s Corner, was a sales rep for Nasta and later starting his own business, Joe Perfetti and Associates until he retired in 2010. From his time at Nasta, spending approximately 30 years in the toy industry, Joseph would attend the International Toy Fair in New York City.

Son of the late Nicholas and Nancy (nee D’Ambrosio), and brother of Debbie Kevitch (late Bruce) and Nicholas (Jill). He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Renate (nee Balitzky), his sons Mario (Mary) and Marco (Aimee), his grandchildren, Dominic, Andrew, Ameila, Brent, his great-grandson Rian as well as his uncle Gus DiPasquale, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his lifelong friend Alfonso (Sonny) Graziano of 72 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, March 3rd from 10:30 to 11:30am at the Maternity BVM Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Avenue Phila PA 19115.  Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30am. Interment will be private.
