Lois Mason (Hiemenz)

Lois Mason (Hiemenz), passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the age of 78. Lois was born on October 9, 1944 to parents, George and Eleanor Hiemenz. Lois was predeceased by her loving husband, James Mason, and her beloved sister, Eileen. She is survived by her two brothers, George and Mark, and several nieces and nephews.

Lois was born and raised in Philadelphia. As a child, Lois loved to run and spend time at the beach. She worked in Center City for an insurance company. Lois devoted herself to her strong Catholic faith through her religious work at Maternity BVM Church, where she was a parishioner for over 50 years. Lois enjoyed volunteering at her church with her husband, Jim. She was involved in many parish organizations, was a member of the Legion of Mary and an instructor in the school’s REC program. She also volunteered at Oakwood Rehabilitation Center.

She had a joy for life and a great sense of humor. Never having children of her own, she was always there for special occasions with her loving nieces and nephews and their families, who always thought of her as the “fun” aunt.
