Maria Campagna (Reale)

Maria Campagna, age 85, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on December 27,2022 surrounded by her loving family.

 

Maria was born on September 8, 1937 in Calabria, Italy. Daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria Giuseppe Reale. She immigrated to America at age 14 with her family to pursue the American Dream. She worked many years as a talented seamstress.

 

She was married to her devoted husband Joseph Campagna for 25 loving years and had 4 beautiful children. Maria was a fantastic cook. There was never a visit from her children or grandchildren that did not include a feast for the senses with a spread of delicious Italian food. Another passion of hers was gardening and growing fresh herbs and vegetables. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maria had a special bond with her 4 sisters who were all best friends and loved spending time together with their extended families.  

 

She leaves behind many people who loved her. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

 

Preceded in death by her husband Joseph Campagna, parents Vincenzo & Maria Guiseppi Reale, brother Francesco Reale, sister Angelina Astuto (Pasquale).

Maria is survived by her 4 children Louis Campagna (Theresa), Vincent Campagna (Beth), Donna Forst (Harry), Susan Marran (Victor), her 9 grandchildren Keith Campagna (Elisa), Neal Campagna (Natalie), Harry Forst Jr., Tina Forst, Joseph Campagna, Julia Campagna (Kyle), Nicole Marran, Lauren Marran, Richard Marran, her 2 great grandchildren Vincent Campagna and Cassandra Campagna, her 3 sisters Eva Bianchimano, Lena Picerno (Joseph), and Elsa Ferri (late Ubaldo), and sister in law Teresa Ruffo (late Attilio).

 

Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday, January 5th from 9:30 to 10:30am at St. Albert the Great Church, 212 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.  Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am.  Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.

Flowers can be sent directly to St. Albert the Great Church on Thursday morning or a tree planted in her memory.  Also, donations can be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
