Catherine Glazier (Napoli)

Catherine Mary Glazier (née Napoli), 75, entered eternal rest on October 27th, 2022.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Fred & Mary Napoli, her in-law’s Joseph & Jeanette Glazier and her sister-in-law Aloma Napoli.

Beloved wife of Alexander W. Glazier, devoted mother to Angela Micewski (Charles) and Julie Glazier, loving Mom Mom to Alexis, Gianna, Olivia and Nicholas, dearest sister to Anthony Napoli & sister-in-law to Joseph Glazier, cherished aunt to Andrea Goodwin (Kevin) and Joey Glazier and dedicated dog mommy to Camille and Ella.

Catherine was born on October 16th, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pa. She was born and raised in the heart of Northeast Philly where she continued to reside until her passing.

She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and worked at Girard Trust Bank until 1970 and transitioned into the domestic goddess we know and love.

She met the love of her life, Alex or as most know him, Sandy on the El platform at Bridge and Pratt and knew instantly he would be her husband. They were married on October 4th, 1969 and spent 53 glorious years together.

In March of 1970 she found out she was pregnant and throughout the pregnancy only one heartbeat could be heard. On December 2nd, 1970, to her surprise she welcomed not one daughter but two! Identical twins, Angela and Julie. She truly dedicated her life to them and her family.

As the years went by she took on her most favorite role in life as Mom Mom and couldn’t be more proud of her grandchildren.

Catherine valued her Italian heritage and traditions especially Christmas time, New Year’s Eve celebrations and making Easter ricotta cheesecakes and she was always up for a game of English rummy.

She enjoyed cooking, baking and dancing. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She had a great love for all animals from her beloved dogs and through the years her fish, parakeets, lizards, hermit crabs, bunnies and cats. She especially loved squirrels along with the birds and ducks she fed everyday.

She loved movies especially Christmas or hallmark ones but musicals were always her favorite.

Her favorite singer of all time was Michael Buble. Her last Mother’s Day gift from her daughters was a front row ticket to his show that unfortunately she was unable to attend due to the leukemia diagnosis but that didn’t stop us from her wish of 18yrs to have her photo signed from a previous meeting. He saw the poster she created and graciously signed it for her and made her dream come true.

Some of her favorite places to go were the shore, Lancaster, Smithville and Peddlers Village.

She cherished all her friendships and was lucky enough to still have some in her life since she was a little girl but she always looked forward to her daily 8pm phone calls with her Bestie. She also enjoyed her weekly calls with her cousins.

She was a devout catholic and dedicated herself to her parish, Maternity BVM. Every year she loved to sell all of her raffle tickets for the carnival and then some!

Lastly, if you ever met or knew Catherine we hope you cherish all your memories of her and remember her warm smile and kind heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday, November 6th from 6 to 8pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 9304 Old Bustleton Avenue and again on Monday, November 7th from 9 to 10am at Maternity BVM Church.  Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10am.  Interment will take place at St. Dominic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to the SPCA
