Louis M. Lupinacci Jr., of Philadelphia, a member of the Order of Franciscan Seculars, died June 2 of complications from dementia. He was 84. The son of the late Louis M. Lupinacci Sr. & Theresa Citino Lupinacci, Louis is survived by his former wife and lifelong friend who stayed with him in sickness and health till death did them part, Elizabeth Lupinacci, their son, Michael Lupinacci (Jeannie) his loving sister, Rosemarie Shields (the late James Shields), nephew David L. Flood (Wendy) and niece, Lynne M. Flood (companion Kevin) and great-nieces Lauren, Monica and Tammy. He was predeceased by his nephew, Joseph D. Flood Jr. (the late Justine). Louis was also especially close to his former sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Janet Stewart, and was a loving uncle by marriage to Janet’s children, Daniel Stewart (Jillian) and Elisabeth Ginder.
Louis was a devout Roman Catholic whose faith defined his life. He attended Mass daily until his mobility was compromised due to age and health. He enjoyed old television shows, U.S. history, baseball, reading, and travel. He was an animal lover and a step-father/uncle to the countless dogs, guinea pigs, rabbits and birds of his wife, son and niece.
Louis died peacefully, without distress, holding the hand of his son and surrounded by his former wife and sister-in-law, Elizabeth and Janet, and beloved daughter-in-law, Jeannie.
Friends and family are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday, June 7th from 9 to 10am at the Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10am. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Cheltenham.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests memorial donations to the Eternal World Television Network (E.W.T.N.), one of his favorite stations.
