Rose Marie Austin (Junecko)

Rose Marie Austin passed away on January 21, 2022 at the age of 79 at her home in Philadelphia, PA, surrounded by family. She was born on June 12, 1942 in McKeesport, PA to Rose and William Mayernick (both deceased). She graduated from McKeesport High School and Douglas Business School. She then entered the Army. She was an executive office manager for Viacom and then Gannet Publishing and the Globe Newspaper. She was married first to John Pellecchia (deceased) and later married to Ronal Austin (deceased). She lived with her son John Pellecchia and his wife Barbara in Philadelphia. Previously, she lived in Lehighton, PA and Manhattan, NY. She was a devout Catholic active in her church as a Eucharistic minister and CCD/Prep teacher in Manhattan and Lehighton.

She is survived by her beloved sons John Pellecchia (Barbara), and Joseph Pellecchia in Michigan; her sisters Janice (Joe) Sowa in Florida, and Kathleen (Alan) Davies in Georgia; her aunt Anne Pratt in Oregon; her grandchildren Rachel, Joshua, Sarah, and Noah Pellecchia in Philadelphia, Christopher Davis in Michigan; and great grandchildren Gianna, Daisia, Fiona, Scarlett, and Sterling. She also leaves behind her precious cat “Two Socks.”

The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to VNA Philadelphia Hospice for their compassionate care, especially, her aide Ikea and her nurse Lois, Chaplin Ron, and Nick.

Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Wednesday February 2, 2022 from 9-10am at the Maternity B.V.M. Church 9220 Old Bustleton Ave. Philadelphia PA 19115. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am. Inurnment service with Army Honors will take place Thursday, February 3, 2022 precisely at 1pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown PA 18940.

Donations in her memory can be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center or your preferred charity.
