Alberta Hulmes (Ciglar)

Alberta B. Hulmes “Bootsy” (nee Ciglar) of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully at home, with her loving daughter, Charissa, by her side, on December 30 th , 2021. She was the beloved mother of Charissa Magenta and Stanley Magenta (Christina), adored Baba of Rachel, Marielle, Joanna, Nicholas, and Timothy, and Great Baba of Kendall, Hope, Eve, Harper, Miles, Norah, and Lucas, and Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was greeted in heaven by her loving mother, Mary, husband, Bob, granddaughter, Jaclyn, brothers, Raymond and Clarence, other relatives and numerous friends. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and found strength in going to Mass and weekly Eucharistic Adoration, serving as a Eucharistic Minister, singing in the choir, and working in the rectory. She loved dancing (especially the jitterbug and the polka), singing, and most-of-all laughing. She had an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile that brought joy to everyone she met. She would describe herself as “goofy” and for everyone that knew her, this rings true in the best way possible. She had a song ready for just about any moment, breaking out singing “Wine, wine, wine spoody doody!” anytime we opened a bottle of wine, “It’s Getting Hot in Here”, or “Rich Maharajah” any old time. She was the most loving, generous, happiest, and of course the “goofiest” person that we were so blessed to know. While she will be so deeply missed, she wouldn’t want us to mourn her death, but celebrate her life and even crack some jokes about her. Family and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 at 9:30AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30AM at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 3001 Levick Street, Philadelphia, PA 19149. Interment at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church.
