Raymond F. Danielewicz

Raymond F. Danielewicz passed away on August 24, 2019 at the age of 74. Born and raised in Camden, NJ and recently resided in Margate, NJ. Ray worked at Smith Kline and was Vice President System Analysts for First Union Bank. He also was the proud owner of Marky D's Pub in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. from 1995-2007. A 62 year loyal and dedicated member of The Polish American String Band, of which he served many offices. Captain of the band from 1972-1989, and upon his retirement was given the honor of Captain Emeritus. Ray was Music Director from 1967-1972, President from 1989-1993. He was inducted into the Polish American String Bands Hall of Fame in 1978 and The Philadelphia Mummers String Band Association Hall of fame in 1983. Beloved Husband of 54 years to Arlene (nee Krop). Loving father of Kimberly Smith and her husband Jeremy, Raymond F. , Jr. and his wife Kimmarie, Patricia Short and her husband Dennis and Mark and his wife Maureen. He will be sadly missed by his nine grandchildren, Courtney Smith, Ryan Smith, Kyle Smith, Jason Danielewicz, Rachel Danielewicz, Dennis Short, Connor Short, Grace Danielewicz and Gavin Danielewicz. Relatives, friends and members of the Polish American String Band are invited to his viewing on Thursday evening from 7-9 pm and on Friday from 8:30 - 9:30 am at Danks-Hinski Funeral Home 125 N. White Horse Pike Laurel Springs, NJ. Funeral Mass 10 am Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Shrine St. Lawrence Church 135 N. White Horse Pike Lindenwold, NJ. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery Blackwood, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to CHOP 3401 Civic Center Blvd. Philadelphia, PA 19104.

My Condolences to the Danielewicz Family on the passing of your Father. Your Dad was a good man and I will always remember the Great times I had marching with him when he was the Captain of the band. Mark and Family I am so sorry to hear fo your dad’s passing. I have such fond memories of you and your family from our St. Lawrence days and growing up in Laurel Springs. Remember those wonderful memories. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
