Joseph T. Cifelli

Joseph T. Cifelli passed away on October 14, 2017 at the age of 94. A retired Captain in the Philadelphia Police Department. Joe was the musical director and band leader for the Police and Fireman Band. A veteran of WWII, serving in the South Pacific on the Swoose B17 Bomber with General George Brett. He received his flying license at the age of 21 and flew General Brett to all the military installations in the South Paciific and to all the U.S.O shows. He is survived by his two loving children Joseph P. and Lisa A. Bachman, as well as two loving grandchildren Timothy and Angela. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday from 6-8pm at Galzerano Funeral Home 9304 Old Bustleton Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19115 and to his funeral Saturday from 9-10 am at Maternity B.V.M. Church 9220 Old Bustleton Ave. Philadelphia,l PA 19115. Funeral mass to follow at 10am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family prefers donations to the Heroes Scholarship Fund.
