Bohdan Moroz

Date of Death:
April 11th, 2021

Bohdan “Bo” Moroz, 71, was born in El Consejo, Venezuela on January 27th, 1950. He was the youngest son and 5th child born to Danylo Moroz and Anna (nee Dombrowska) Moroz. Bo was a master upholsterer, known throughout the area for the superlative quality and exacting detail of his work, providing services to Philadelphia sports icons and celebrities, and restoring historical antiques. Bo’s incredible work and unique personality granted him a degree of celebrity with him sometimes getting stopped on the street by excited clients or recognized at events. Once, at a Flyers game, Bo was sitting near a Philadelphia legend and a fan was animatedly waving in their direction. Everyone assumed she was waving down the Flyer when she excitedly told her husband “there’s Bo the upholsterer!” Bo loved spending time at the Jersey Shore and was proud of becoming a citizen in 2018. He embodied the American success story, coming to the country with nothing and building a future for his children. Bo now joins his beloved wife of 45 years, whose absence left him incomplete in this life. Bo is predeceased by his wife Margaret “Peggy” (nee Tarde) Moroz, parents, and brother Mykhailo. He is survived by his brother Ivan Moroz, sisters Maria (nee Moroz) Mendez, Alexandra “Leska” (nee Moroz) Dahdah, and Irena “Irka” (nee Moroz) Monturano, son Marc Moroz and his wife Elizabeth (nee Ramos) Moroz, daughter Heather (nee Moroz) Buday and her husband Robert Francis Buday, and grandchildren Marc Moroz II, Anna Moroz, Daniella Moroz, Isabelle Moroz, Kylee Buday, Gabriella Moroz, Carolynn Moroz, Aubrey Buday, and Robert Buday. A viewing will be held on Saturday April 17th from 8 AM until 9:30 AM at Galzerano Funeral Home, 9304 Old Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19115. There will be a funeral mass next to the funeral home at Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church followed by lunch. Bo will be laid to rest at Most Holy Redeemer cemetery the following Tuesday at 11 AM.
