George Koch

George Koch, aged 78, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024.  He was the loving husband of Kathleen (nee Dardis), father of George (Amy), Christian (Jennifer), Kelly Ann (Ashley), and Beth Ann (Ryan Dunn), and adoring grandpop of 5 granddaughters: Madeline, Meghan, Hope, Faith, and Grace.  George was born in North Philadelphia, the son of George and Virgina (nee Diamond), and brother of Donna (Aument) and Wayne.  George graduated from North Catholic High School and then went on to work in civil engineering his entire career, where he spent 32 years working for PennDOT, ultimately serving as ACE for Bucks County.  After that he joined TRC Engineering for 20 years serving as Vice President before finally retiring in 2020.  George was married to Kathleen for 56 amazing years and they were inseparable and could been seen on many occasions lighting up any dance floor they could find with their moves!  George was an active member of the community as a coach (numerous times for the Bustleton Bengals and St. Albert the Great) and a devoted member of his parish, St. Albert the Great in Huntingdon Valley, Pa.  George was also a long-term member of the Knights of Columbus, serving in many roles for that Christian fraternal organization as Brother Knight, State Deputy, Past State Deputy, and ultimately a Master where he helped develop, run and manage many charity events for the community.  George loved to play golf (often seen swinging a 3 iron at many of his kids sporting events), travel with his family and friends (ski trips, visits to Ireland, Germany, Austria), and watch his beloved Philly sport teams.  Most of all George loved to spend time with his granddaughters down the shore swimming in the pool and dancing with them.  George touched the hearts of many people in his life and he will be missed by all that knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday, February 9th from 6 to 8pm at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 9304 Old Bustleton Avenue, Phila PA 19115 and again on Saturday, February 10th from 9 to 10am at St. Albert the Great Church, 212 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.  His Funeral Mass will follow at 10am.  Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
