Thomas P. Miller

Date of Death:
May 14, 2019

Thomas P. Miller, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by family after bravely enduring a long illness. In his youth, Tom was an entrepreneur. He started a lawn cutting business. No one could match his speed and perfection in maintaining his customers’ lawns. After high school he voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp following in his older brothers’ footsteps. After proudly serving his country Tom took up woodworking at which he excelled. His talent produced beautifully handcrafted furniture and other lovely items. Tom was a gear cutter for Stranahan Gear Company and was employed as a Maintenance Worker by Strauss Engineering Company. As his illness progressed he was forced to give up his craft at which time he took an interest in baking. He enrolled in a pastry course at Walnut Hill College where he learned to bake. He continued baking for his family, friends and doctors until recently. Tommy also volunteered at Einstein Hospital. Thomas will be missed. He is survived by his siblings (spouses), Patricia (Lynn), Peter (Kathy), Dolores (Frank), Anne (Danny), Bernadette (Mark), Mary Faith (Franny), Theresa (Mike); 16 nieces and nephews and 27 great nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements are private. Donations may be made to St. Francis Inn, 2441 Kensington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA
